SBS 2003: Recovering lost notes for a single contact in Exchange
Environment: SBS 2003, Exchange
What is the quickest, easiest way for me to recover the notes for a contact? The contact was not deleted....just the notes. I've searched for solutions, and the only suggestions I see are to set up an identical Exchange server and restore a backupto that. We're small and have just one server...not something I can achieve in our environment.
Could I shut down mail processing, back up current Exchange data, restore Exchange with data I need, recover notes, restore current Exchange, and restart mail processing?
We use the POP3 connector for all incoming mail, so having Exchange down for a period of time over the weekend won't be an issue. Any incoming mail on the weekend will just wait on the POP3 server.
Any and all suggestions are welcome! Thanks.

Hi,
Which backup software do you use? I use backup exec 11dand I usually use mailbox redirection to restore ina "temporary" mailbox then I copy the Item to the original mailbox.
Hope that helps
Fred.

Unfortunately, we're using the default SBS 2003 backup.
